Through our grantmaking initiatives, we strive to cultivate positive change and support initiatives that align with the diverse needs and aspirations of our community. The Athens County Foundation provides funding support to many organizations serving Athens County. The Foundation invests in projects that build upon Economic Vitality, support Thriving Communities, and/or focus on Individual Health and Wellbeing. The Athens County Foundation's annual fall grant cycle empowers local organizations to address critical needs and opportunities across the county. We prioritize projects that foster collaboration and sustainable change, encouraging proposals that bring together diverse resources and expertise. This grant cycle is an opportunity to partner with ACF in creating a healthier, more inclusive, and thriving Athens County. Grant Timeline Typically, our grants need to be spent within one year of fund receipt. We will consider funding for programs/projects that can be completed within the 1-year timeline. If your proposals will take longer to complete, we recommend applying for the resources needed for the year and then reapplying for funding in the next cycle. Funding Amounts If you are applying for the fall cycle, we recommend asking for a minimum of $1,000. Average grants range from $3,000-8,000. If you are planning to submit a proposal in excess of $20,000, we strongly recommend you contact ACF staff prior to submission to discuss your proposal.
