Overview

Assembly Cohort Program: Maps to Manifest

Overview: Founded in 2016, Assembly offers system-impacted young people aged 18-26 an inroad to art and connections to working artists, while serving as an alternative to incarceration. The cohort program, Maps to Manifest, supports young people through an artistic and leadership development-based curriculum.

Eligibility:

  • Ages 18-26

  • System-impacted young people

  • Open only by referral
  • Program Details:

  • Duration: 6 weeks

  • Time Commitment: 2 hours a week

  • Format: In-person, gateway offering

  • Timing: Multiple cycles (Winter-Spring)

  • Supports Provided:

  • - Snacks and metrocards
    - Artistic and leadership development curriculum
    - Case-by-case flexibility

    Program Goals:

  • Diverts both misdemeanor and felony charges

  • Empowers young people to take charge of their own life story

  • Envisions a future through art

  • Creates tangible results in areas of participants' lives that matter most

  • Builds holistic relationships within thriving community

  • Reduces recidivism by training participants as leaders and mentors
