Overview

Association of Southeastern Biologists The Association of Southeastern Biologists (ASB) held its first meeting in Athens, GA, in 1937, and has met every year since with the exception of 1943, 1944, and 1945 due to WWII and 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our purpose is to promote the advancement of biology as a science by encouraging research, the imparting of knowledge, the application of knowledge to the solution of biological problems, and the preservation of biological resources. We promote research and education in the biological sciences by providing a student friendly, networking environment through our annual meetings. Research Award ($1000) Presented to an ASB professional member (students are not eligible for this award) for outstanding research. A written manuscript or publication and an oral presentation at the annual meeting are required. The manuscript must be completed after the previous ASB annual meeting, but not prior. The presentation must be given at either the previous or upcoming annual meeting.
