ArtsWave Inspire Artist Grants

Overview: Substantial support for both emerging and established artists for projects that authentically reflect the lived Black and Brown experience. The program provides both financial backing and a comprehensive ecosystem of professional development.

Geographic Scope: Greater Cincinnati region (Ohio and Northern Kentucky)

Focus Areas:

  • Projects exploring truth, reconciliation, inspiration, innovation and healing

  • Work that advances ArtsWave's Blueprint for Collective Action

  • Projects emphasizing bridging cultural divides, promoting understanding and empathy, deepening roots in the region, and improving neighborhoods

  • Visual arts, film, performance art, and other artistic disciplines
  • Program Benefits:

  • Financial funding for project creation

  • Professional development support

  • Cohort activities throughout project development

  • Showcase opportunity at the Contemporary Arts Center in summer 2026

  • Networking and community building
  • Eligibility:

  • Emerging and established artists

  • Black and Brown artists whose work reflects their lived experience

  • Artists based in or connected to the Greater Cincinnati region
  • History: This is the sixth consecutive year of the program. Over its five-year history, the program has funded 26+ local artists annually, resulting in visual art exhibitions, film festivals, and live performances.
