Dominion Energy ArtStars Awards

Funding for Virginia programs that support the arts

We celebrate the contributions of arts organizations through their collaboration with schools and communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Dominion Energy ArtStars awards recognize arts organizations in Virginia that successfully combine arts and education in their community.

Award Parameters

The Dominion Energy ArtStars Awards celebrate arts education in the community. Organizations providing arts education to students of all ages in Virginia may apply for consideration.

One Shining Star Award ($10,000 each) may be awarded in each of the five Virginia regions to an organization with (i) a qualifying arts and education program and (ii) an annual budget of less than $1 million.

Eligibility

* To be eligible to receive a Dominion Energy ArtStars Award, organizations MUST:

* Meet the ArtStars definition of an arts organization: organizations that produce, present, or support dance, literary arts, media arts, music, theater, visual, and related arts including art therapy.
* Be headquartered in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
* Be registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
* Operate at least one qualifying arts and education program

Ineligibility

* Previous ArtStars Awards recipients from the most recent year are not eligible to apply.
* Prior winners must wait one awards cycle before they become eligible to re-apply.
* Foundation grant support is NOT available to:

* Tangible benefits, including utility payments to Dominion Energy or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates
* Individuals
* Religious programs of churches or other sectarian organizations
* Fraternal, political, advocacy or labor organizations
* Projects or organizations that are not located within geographic areas where Dominion Energy provides electricity or natural gas service, or has significant facilities or business interests
* Fund-raising events (dinners, lunches, etc.)
* Golf tournaments or other sporting events
* Organizations without 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
* Organizations that limit membership and services based on race, religion, color, creed, sex, age or national origin
* Advertising for benefit or courtesy purposes
* Travel-related events, including student trips or tours
* Memorial campaigns
