Arts Curricular Innovation Grants -- Arts Teacher Institutes The purpose of the Arts Curricular Innovation Grants (ACIG) Arts Teacher Institutes program is to provide support to eligible organizations for administering arts institutes that provide professional development in arts content to South Carolina arts teachers, other academic teachers, and arts administrators. Grant awards are to provide Arts Teacher Institutes as tuition-free graduate courses or professional development that directly supports quality arts education programs that will significantly improve student achievement in the arts. Eight of the arts institutes, offered in collaboration with an accredited college or university, will award three graduate credits (indicated by “GC”) or Continuing Education Units (indicated by “CEU”) to participants who successfully complete the institute. Seven of the institutes will award educator certificate renewal credits based on the number of contact hours documented in the syllabus. All Arts Teacher Institutes should be focused on standards-based arts curricula, instruction, and assessment; provided as residential institutes (with room and board for participants, unless otherwise stated); and evaluated based on an assessment instrument approved by the SCDE in terms of quality and its potential impact on student learning.Eligibility
