Overview

Artist Fellowships

Overview: Recognizes artistic excellence and honors the work of seasoned artists, advances the work of mid-career artists, and nurtures the work of developing artists.

Geographic Scope: St. Louis City and County, Missouri

Eligible Disciplines: All artistic disciplines including visual arts, theater, music, literature, design, dance, media arts, and more

Award Timing: Typically awarded in January

Number of Awards: Approximately 10 artists annually

Evaluation Process: Selected from applicants after in-depth review by:

  • 20 discipline readers

  • Community advisory committee

  • RAC's Board of Commissioners
  • Program History: Since inception in 2013, RAC has awarded a total of $1.4 million (as of 2020) to help regional artists further their artistic careers as fellows
