Overview

Art in Action Scholarship Fund

Purpose: Provide free Art in Action programs and supplies to K-8 schools that lack resources for art education.

Geographic Scope: United States (currently serving 40 schools across 19 states)

What They Fund:

  • Complete K-8 visual arts curriculum access

  • All art materials needed to teach 12 complete lessons

  • Educator training (in-person or via webinar) for all teaching team members

  • Year-round teaching support

  • Help developing sustainable art programs
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • K-8 schools not already using the Art in Action program

  • School must be designated Title I OR able to demonstrate financial need

  • Letter of commitment to teach the program during the award year, signed by applicant and principal
  • What They Don't Fund:

  • Schools already using Art in Action curriculum

  • Schools unable to demonstrate need
  • Requirements for Awardees:

  • Provide names of teacher, parent, or volunteer who will teach in each classroom

  • Demonstrate lessons have been taught through surveys, feedback, and reports

  • Complete mid-term survey

  • Complete final report

  • Provide photos and testimonials
  • Background: Since 2016, the Scholarship Fund has provided programs and supplies to 116 classrooms in 40 schools across 19 states.

    2. Complete application with required information
    3. Obtain letter of commitment signed by applicant and principal
    4. Submit application during open application cycle

    Required Materials:

  • Application form

  • Names of teacher, parent, or volunteer who will teach in each classroom

  • Letter of commitment from applicant and school principal

  • Documentation of Title I designation OR demonstration of financial need
  • Note: Application cycle is described as "now open" on the website
