Armelde Pitre STEM Leadership Scholarship Grant

The Armelde Pitre STEM Leadership Scholarship, established by the Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board and retired Pfizer Senior Director Armelde Pitre, aims to enhance the STEM workforce in Eastern Connecticut. It is designed for high school seniors who plan to pursue a STEM major at an accredited institution, addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. This initiative underscores the importance of education in creating a sustainable and equitable future.

Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut
With an asset base exceeding $120 million and over $100 million awarded in grants and scholarships, the Foundation acts as a philanthropic hub connecting donors to community needs and opportunities. Guided by values of equity, social justice, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, CFECT focuses on four key priorities: empowering youth, advancing basic needs and rights, preserving the environment, and promoting animal welfare. Through grantmaking, advocacy, and collaboration, the Foundation works to eliminate racial and economic disparities, uplift historically marginalized voices, and create lasting, positive change for a more equitable and sustainable future.
