Ardath M. Cade Scholarship Fund

Overview: The Ardath M. Cade Scholarship Fund supports professional development for ACDS staff, Board members, and emerging leaders working in and serving the needs of Anne Arundel County communities.

Geographic Scope: Anne Arundel County, Maryland

Eligible Applicants:

  • ACDS staff

  • ACDS Board members

  • Leaders and emerging leaders in housing and community development working in Anne Arundel County

  • Community organizations serving Anne Arundel County
  • Focus Areas:

  • Professional development and training

  • Leadership development

  • Technical assistance training (e.g., CDBG training)

  • Housing and community development industry education
  • Award Details:

  • Typically awards up to $6,000 per calendar year

  • Maximum award of $1,500 per individual

  • Recent awards have ranged from $500-$1,500

  • Past recipients have used funds for:

  • - HUD Basically CDBG training
    - Leadership and management skills courses
    - Housing counselor certification programs
    - Community Association Institute (CAI) trainings

    Background: Ardath M. Cade is a champion of affordable housing and community development throughout Maryland and Anne Arundel County. During her tenure as a county official, she helped launch the creation of ACDS. The scholarship fund aims to grow new and emerging leaders at ACDS and in the housing and community development industry.
