Guided by our vision, purpose, mission, values, and policies, we inspire philanthropic generosity to enhance our community’s quality of life. Scholarships More than 200 students throughout north central Wisconsin, from pre-school to post-graduate, will be awarded scholarships totaling more than $300,000 from the 125 endowed scholarship funds administered within the Community Foundation. Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship Purpose The Archie C. Towle Aviation Endowment Fund was established to honor the memory of Archie C. Towle while continuing to promote the advancement of aviation as a career. The fund annually awards scholarships to students living within a 50 mile radius of the Wausau area who demonstrate financial need, ability, and a desire to pursue a career in the field of aviation. Aviation Fields Include (but are not limited to): Airline Pilot; Aircraft Mechanic; Air Traffic Controller; Aerospace Engineer; Astronaut; Aeronautical EngineerMechanical Engineer;  Flight Instructor; Airport Manager; Flight Surgeon; Electronics Technician

Resident living within a 50 mile radius of the greater Wausau area Demonstrating an ability and strong desire to pursue a career in aviationThe recipient must be able to pass at least a 2nd class FAA medical examination for flight training. No exam is necessary for maintenance training.
