Annual Funding Request

Purpose: Monetary assistance to support children, family, teacher and student causes.

Geographic Scope: United States (Foundation based in Alabama, FL registration)

Funder Background: Nick's Kids Foundation is the official charity of the Saban Family. Established in 1998 by Nick and Terry Saban at Michigan State University in honor of the late Nick Saban, Sr. The foundation has been maintained and supported throughout their careers at Louisiana State University, the Miami Dolphins, and currently at the University of Alabama.

Funding Distribution

• Majority of annual funds are distributed during the Annual Giveaway Luncheon held in early August
• Organizations applying for the 2026 Giveaway Luncheon will be notified of funding status by July 1, 2026
• Requests received after the May 1 deadline will be considered for the following year's luncheon

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be non-athletically related bona fide youth organizations
• Donation requests must be made in conjunction with the requesting organization's regular fundraising activities
• NCAA Compliance: Foundation can only donate to non-athletically related youth organizations

What They Do NOT Fund

• Donations cannot be earmarked or used for the benefit of prospective student-athletes (students who have started classes for 9th grade or higher)
• Cannot contribute to boys' basketball programs
• Cannot donate items or memorabilia for:
- High school fundraising events (grades 9-12) - Events benefiting any high school organization - High school fundraising events benefiting charities or educational projects - Prospective student-athletes or boys' basketball programs
