Overview

Annual Essay Contest

Purpose: Writing contest to offer writing challenges to students and support writing curriculum in schools.

Geographic Scope: Loudon County and Lenoir City School Systems, Tennessee

Sponsor: Full-Line Insurance

Eligibility: Students in grades 3-8

Grade Categories:

  • Third & Fourth Grade

  • Fifth & Sixth Grade

  • Seventh & Eighth Grade
  • Award Structure:

  • First, Second, and Third place winners selected in each grade category
  • Process:
    1. Participating classes write essays on selected topic following established guidelines
    2. Teachers select the best essay from their class and submit to the Foundation
    3. Panel of three judges reads blind essays
    4. Winners chosen based on set criteria

    Recognition:

  • Winners honored at Excellence in Education Celebration event (attended by over 1,200 students, teachers, parents, and community members)

  • Reception and awards ceremony provided

  • Winners announced at Excellence in Education Celebration
