Amplify Scholars: The iMentor-KIPP Scholarship Program

Overview: An annual partnership between iMentor and KIPP to create a scholarship program that helps amplify the voices of young people through their college journey. Amplify Scholars receive mentorship, financial support, and community building opportunities.

Funding Partners: iMentor and KIPP (in partnership with KIPP Forward, formerly KIPP Through College)

Award Details:

Number of Scholars: 15 outstanding KIPP graduates selected annually

Financial Support: Stipends for critical expenses outside of tuition and room & board

Support Provided:

One-on-one mentor supporting educational and professional pathways

Invitation to Amplify Scholars Academy: 3-day retreat

Programming, events, and resources differentiated by year to ensure persistence and success

Community building opportunities:

- Zoom hangouts with fellow scholars
- Amplify Scholars Book Club
- Growing Affinity Groups

Ongoing support throughout college journey

Eligibility:

KIPP high school seniors

KIPP middle school alumni in their high school senior year

Must be KIPP graduates

Outstanding academic and personal achievement

Status: Application paused for the 2022-23 school year

Program Philosophy: iMentor and KIPP are inspired by the idealism and moral clarity of the current generation of young people and seek to help them amplify their voices and achieve success in college and beyond.
