Overview

Ambassador of Aloha Scholarships

Overview: Scholarships for full-time undergraduates and high school seniors demonstrating financial need and athletic achievement in ocean and beach sports.

Geographic Scope: Hawaii residents only

Eligibility:

  • Must be a Hawaii resident

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

  • Must participate in canoeing, surfing, kayaking, swimming, diving, water polo, sailing, or volleyball with a record of accomplishments and intention to compete in college

  • Must demonstrate the spirit of aloha through leadership and community involvement

  • Full-time undergraduates or high school seniors

    • Award Details:

  • Multiple one-time scholarships available

  • Generally ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 each

  • For the 2025-2026 school year, the foundation awarded $148,100 through 41 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and current college students

    • Special Notes:

  • ODKF reserves the right to ask for further financial need documentation if needed

  • Division I, II and III athletes should consult with their school's compliance officer regarding impact of ODKF funds on eligibility

    • Focus Areas: Perpetuating the spirit and legacy of Duke Kahanamoku through ocean and beach sports development
