Amanda Lynn Seeley Memorial Scholarship Grant

The Amanda Lynn Seeley Memorial Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, honors a remarkable young woman by providing educational support to graduating seniors from select Virginia counties. This scholarship aims to recognize students who excel in academics and demonstrate strong character, leadership, and community involvement. Eligible candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 and plan to enroll in an accredited four-year college, ensuring that deserving students continue their educational journeys.

The Community Foundation of Richmond is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving quality of life across the Richmond region by connecting people, ideas, and resources for lasting community impact. The Foundation manages charitable funds, supports local nonprofits, and leads strategic initiatives that address community priorities such as education, health, economic opportunity, and equity. Through grantmaking, donor services, and community leadership, the Foundation works to strengthen nonprofits, respond to emerging needs, and build a more resilient, inclusive, and thriving Richmond-area community.
The Amanda Lynn Seeley Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 by her family and friends, to honor a young woman who demonstrated the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, and service throughout her life. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to support post-secondary educational scholarships for qualifying graduates of Prince George, Southampton, Surry and Sussex County public and private schools. The recipient of the scholarship will be a well-rounded individual who participates fully in activities in school, his/her faith based community, and his/her localcommunity.

Eligibility

Eligible student must be a senior attending Prince George, Southampton, Surry or Sussex County public or private schools. Eligible student must demonstrate outstanding commitment to academics, character, leadership, service, and his/her faith-based community.Eligible student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale.Eligible student must be a candidate for high school graduation at the end of the current academic year, and plan to enroll in an accredited 4-year college or university in the continental United States the following academic year.
