The Alvah & Doris Veit Foundation is a New Jersey, Nonprofit corporation functioning as a Charitable Foundation based in Merchantville, NJ. The Foundation was established in 2011 through the generosity of Doris S. Veit formerly of Camden, NJ. The Foundation’s mission is two-fold. First, to provide Academic Grants to graduates of Camden, NJ High Schools who are entering college in pursuit of an Engineering degree. The second purpose is to provide Grants for Christian Evangelical Missions [501- (c)(3)] that are actively sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The charitable interests of the founders are reflected in the Foundation’s mission. It is important to note that while the Foundation operates as one non-profit entity, distributions are divided between Academic Grants to individuals and Evangelical Grants to evangelical Christian organizations. Evangelical Grants The foundation's Evangelical Grants support Christian organizations and individuals whose activities serve to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ nationally and internationally, whose beliefs are in line with the Word of God. The Foundation is authorized to make grants to advance the work of Christian evangelism, encourage church growth, train pastors, evangelists and teachers in non-Christian areas and extend the availability of Scripture to more people. Priority shall be given to funded projects which are characterized by several of the following: Focused specifically on areas of the world unreached or hostile to the Gospel in an effort to advance and complete the Great Commission. Train Christian teachers, pastors and evangelists and send them into areas where the shortage of workers is acute. Organizations and individuals whose main priority and mission is to reach those who are considered “unreached” with the Gospel of Jesus Christ will receive first priority in the distribution of grants. Below is a list of ministries and projects that meet the criteria of grant giving by the Alvah and Doris Veit Foundation.
