Alston Beech Foundation Grant The Alston-Beech Foundation awards grants to qualified nonprofit organizations with specific, identifiable needs. The Foundation provides funding for specific grant requests. All grants provided are restricted and must be used only for the purpose for which it was funded. Examples of the types of grants that the Foundation will fund are: Strategic planning New programs or expansion of continuing successful programs. Organizational capacity building Educational or job training programs Older adult programs Arts and culture Children, youth and family programs Safety and crime

Eligibility

The eligibility requirements are:Organizations must be incorporated and classified as tax-exempt under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code and as public charities, under section 509 (a) of that code.Organizations may not use a conduit organization to apply for funding. Eligible organizations must be in business for a minimum of two-years before applying for a grant.Grants are made to organizations who are located in the North Central Philadelphia area. The organization must be within the boundaries of North to Lehigh Avenue; South to Fairmount Avenue; East to Broad Street; and West to 33rd Street.Churches and religious organizations are not eligible to receive funding, however, Church community development corporations who are tax-exempt may be eligible for activities that are non-sectarian and benefit the North Central Philadelphia community within the boundaries set forth.Organizations gross annual income must be less than $1 million, and must earn or project profits of $50,000 annually.Prospective grantees must employ at least three employees; provide equal employment opportunities, and must adhere to all state employment laws.Organizations must be current with all federal and local taxes including employee withholding tax payments.A current audited financial statement must be provided to the foundation. All organizations must carry the required insurance coverage as needed. You may only apply for funding once in a twelve-month calendar period.

Ineligibility

For-profit organizations and individuals are not eligible for funding.The following are some activities not funded by the Foundation:Grants to individuals, scholarships, or fellowships Legislative activities, political lobbying, or sectarian religious activities For-profit companies Hospitals Staff salaries Housing construction or rehabilitation, including capital costs and financing Organizations that discriminate on the basis of sex, race, creed, or gender Non-public schools or facilities that house juvenile delinquents
