Albert Ales III and Zachary Morris Scholarship Fund

Purpose: To provide one traditional, merit-based scholarship annually to an eligible Southeast High School (Bradenton, FL) IB program graduate attending a four-year college or university.

Geographic Scope: Bradenton/Manatee County area (serves Southeast High School graduates)

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Merit-based award

  • Applicants must exemplify the values of Albert and Zack: resiliency, kindness, school involvement, and a willingness to serve others and be a force for good in the world

  • Recipients must be Southeast High School IB program graduates

  • Recipients must be attending a four-year college or university
  • Background: Albert Ales III and Zachary Morris were members of the class of 2019 at Southeast High School in Bradenton. Albert was a mechanical engineering prodigy who earned a Bright Futures Scholarship to the University of Central Florida. Zack earned a Navy ROTC scholarship to Yale University where he planned to study economics and become a doctor. On May 24, 2019, both young men were tragically struck and killed by a reckless bus driver while traveling in Peru to celebrate their graduation. The community came together through donations to create this scholarship endowment in their memory.
