ALATEC Corporate Care Fund

Organization: Administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville on behalf of ALATEC, Inc.

Mission: Special charitable fund that allows employees of ALATEC to apply for grants during periods of extreme financial hardship brought on by natural disaster, death, serious or life-threatening illness or injury, or other crisis.

Geographic Scope: ALATEC employees only

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be an employee of ALATEC, Inc.
• Must have experienced extreme financial hardship due to:
  • Natural disaster
  • Death
  • Serious or life-threatening illness or injury
  • Other crisis situations

Fund Structure:

• Allows tax-deductible donations from ALATEC company or employees
• Applicants receive financial assistance without incurring tax liability
• Independent committee reviews applications
• Awards based on criteria defined by the company
• Ensures anonymity and prevents favoritism

About ALATEC, Inc.:

• Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business
• Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company
• Primarily focused on Federal Government service contracts

• One of only two employers in Madison County with this progressive program (as of 2014)

Application Process

How to Apply:

1. ALATEC employees who have been impacted by eligible incidents apply directly to the Community Foundation
2. Complete application submission (specific form requirements not detailed in available materials)
3. Submit to the Community Foundation

Review Process:

1. Independent committee reviews grant applications
2. Committee makes awards based on criteria defined by ALATEC when fund was created
3. Process maintains anonymity and prevents favoritism
