Alabama Poultry Foundation 2+2 Scholarship Program

Program Status: Active and accepting applications

Geographic Scope: Wallace State Community College locations and Gadsden State Cherokee Community College

Purpose: Providing scholarships for students to attend community college for 2 years and then transfer to Auburn University to complete a degree in Poultry Science

Program History:

• Started in 2013 at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville
• Expanded in 2016 to Gadsden State Community College at their Cherokee Campus and to Wallace State in Dothan

Award Information:

• In 2023, APEA awarded $5,000 in 2+2 scholarships
• Total amount awarded each year is dependent upon availability of funds

Application Process

1. Access Application: Applications can be filled out and submitted online at alabamapoultry.org/scholarships

2. Submission Format: Online application portal with supporting documents attached

3. Deadline: March 15 (annually)

4. Supporting Documents: Submit all required supporting documents with application through the online portal

Note: As of 2024, applications can be completed and submitted entirely online with all supporting documents.
