Al Kanser AMA AED Save A Life Grant

Overview: Created in 2023 by the Academy of Model Aeronautics Foundation to help promote safer and more medically equipped flying sites. This grant reimburses clubs for 25% of the cost (up to $200) of a recently purchased Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Purpose: AEDs are easy-to-use devices that can be critical in helping someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

Geographic Scope: United States (all AMA chartered clubs)

Eligibility:

All AMA chartered clubs and chapters eligible

Must have purchased AED within last 2 months at time of application submission

Must provide receipt of purchase with photo

Key Features:

Reimbursement for 25% of AED purchase cost

Maximum reimbursement: $200 per club per year

Awards based on first-come, first-served basis

When annual budget reached, awards discontinued for year

Red Cross offers AMA members and chartered clubs:

- Specialized First Aid training
- CPR training
- AED training
- Discounts on AED devices

Academy of Model Aeronautics and AMA Foundation do not retain liability for club's AED purchase
