About AHPA The Arthritis Health Professions Association (AHPA) is a dedicated group of health care professionals, researchers, and administrators from across Canada who are passionate about improving the care of people with rheumatic diseases. Health care students and research trainees are also an important part of the organization. The broad focus of AHPA is reflected in our Vision and Mission statements. More specifically, AHPA attempts to meet the learning needs of its members through online education and by fostering networking amongst its members. AHPA supports health professional research in several ways including the provision of research grants, as well as assisting researchers in study recruitment and knowledge dissemination. Finally, AHPA collaborates with other professional and patient organizations to advocate for and to provide optimal care and quality of life for every Canadian living with arthritis. Seed Funding Grant Every year, the field of rheumatology changes with new knowledge collected by research scientists from across Canada and around the world. Translation of this knowledge is important for the development of evidence-based rheumatology practice. Since allied health professionals play a large role in rheumatology, it is important that they be able to provide evidence for their roles in the field and demonstrate the positive impact that they have on the care of people with inflammatory arthritic disease. The AHPA encourages its members to contribute knowledge to the field by holding an annual research grant competition and recognizing their research efforts at the Canadian Rheumatology Association’s and AHPA’s Annual Scientific Meeting.
