    Application Process

    Step 1: Letter of Intent (LOI)

  • Submit a brief description of the proposed research project and its relevance to the AHC community

  • LOI may be submitted at any time of the year

  • AHCF Board of Directors will review and determine interest level in moving to full proposal

    • Step 2: Full Proposal Stage

  • Upon positive LOI review, notice will be provided expressing the foundation's interest

  • Timelines will be shared for the next phase

    • Step 3: Full Proposal Review

  • Reviewed by AHCF Medical Advisory Board, Research Committee, and Finance Committee

  • Each group submits recommendations and comments to Board of Directors

    • Step 4: Board of Directors Action

  • Board reviews all proposal documents, recommendations, and comments

  • Board votes on the proposal

  • Applicant receives letter indicating funding status

  • Reasoning behind it

  • What you expect to prove (Aims and Goals)

  • Overall funding amount requested

  • Detailed budget

  • Time period the grant will cover

  • Investigators involved

    • Submission Details:

  • Preferred review period: Beginning of fiscal year (July 1st) as part of annual budget

  • Also accepts requests outside this period based on budget availability

  • Timeline: Although one-year projects are preferred, longer-term projects are considered on a case-by-case basis
