Adult Protective Services Technology Modernization Grant

The Adult Protective Services Technology Modernization Grant provides funding to assist Illinois service providers in upgrading their technology to improve efficiency in serving older adults. Eligible applicants include various government and nonprofit organizations that have previously submitted a letter of intent. The grant supports reimbursement for qualifying technology purchases, excluding large items over $5,000, ensuring agencies can enhance their service delivery capabilities effectively.

This grant is issued to support activities authorized under the Elder Justice Act Section 2042(b) of Title XX of the Social Security Act [Public Law 74-271] [As Amended Through P.L. 115-123, Enacted February 9, 2018].
Funding under the Department on Aging, Advocacy and Prevention Services for the Adult Protective Services division will include reimbursement for all qualifying technology upgrades and/or additions. The objective of this grant is to assist service providers with the costs of updating the technology within their agency.
These upgrades and additions may include but are not limited to laptop computers, tablets, (including cords, chargers, and cases) software, cellular phones, (including cords, chargers, and cases) security devices and systems, and any other technologies that may assist providers by increasing APS staff efficiency while in the field serving clients.
Large purchases, defined as one single item purchased at a cost to the grantee that exceeds $5,000, may not be submitted for reimbursement within this award.

Eligibility

Eligible Applicants: County Governments, City or township governments, Government Organizations, Nonprofit Organizations, For-Profit OrganizationsFunding Restrictions: Must be a current APS provider Agency that has previously submitted a letter of intent.
