Adaptive Recreation Grant

Funder: North Dakota Association for the Disabled (NDAD)

Award Amount: $5,000 (at least one awarded annually)

Geographic Scope: North Dakota and directly adjacent border communities

Purpose: To promote and support adaptive recreational activities for people with disabilities

Eligible Applicants: Agencies and organizations in North Dakota and the state's directly adjacent border communities

Potential Uses

The grant can support a wide variety of adaptive recreation needs, including:

Special events for people with disabilities

Adaptive equipment purchases or upgrades

New or expanded recreation programs for people with disabilities

Focus: Must be used to serve people with disabilities through adaptive recreational activities

Example

The Grand Forks YMCA received an Adaptive Recreation Grant that was used to purchase a SciFit machine for their Med Fit Adaptive Equipment Program.
