Program Focus

The Stamford Rotary Trust Fund awards academic scholarships to exemplary students pursuing higher education. The fund supports students in reaching their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens through educational opportunities.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a high school student applying to or enrolled in colleges, trade schools, or vocational/technical schools
  • Must demonstrate strong academic achievement (GPA considered)
  • Must show significant community service involvement
  • Must be a resident of Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, or New Canaan
  • High school guidance counselor or teacher reference required
  • Outside service organization reference required

How to Apply

Application Process

Required Documents and Information (prepare before starting):

1. Applicant Information:
- Full name
- Email address
- Home address (with state and zip code)
- Date of birth
- High school name
- Cumulative GPA
- List of colleges, trade schools, or vocational/technical schools applied to

2. Community Service Activities:
- List principal community service activities (hospital, church/synagogue, school, etc.) in order of importance
- For each: organization name, years involved, and responsibilities
- Can attach separate document for additional items if needed

3. Student Activities and Clubs:
- List student activities (Clubs, Sports, etc.), demonstrating leadership abilities where possible
- For each: activity/club name, years involved, and responsibilities
- Can attach separate document for additional items if needed

4. Supporting Documents:
- Most recent transcript (required)
- Two letters of recommendation (required):
- At least one from a teacher or guidance counselor
- One from a leader of an outside service organization to which you have volunteered
- Proof of Stamford residency (required)
- Additional community service and student activities documentation (optional, up to 2 files)
- 250-word essay (required) answering: "How has community service changed your outlook about society?"
