Ab Nicholas Scholarship

Mission: To make higher education accessible and affordable to worthy students, helping them open doors to a better world.

Award Amount:

$10,000 per year for students in 4-year programs

Renewable annually if cumulative GPA remains above 2.0

Total potential award: $40,000 over 4 years

Geographic Scope: Wisconsin

Eligibility:

Wisconsin high school seniors

Participants in high school basketball program (as player or manager)

Planning to apply to a University of Wisconsin System school

Must complete FAFSA

Must maintain cumulative GPA greater than 2.0 for renewal

How to Apply

Application Process

Application Period: February 1 - April 30 (senior year)

Important: Scholarships will ONLY be considered for applicants who complete ALL three steps.

Step 1: Ab Nicholas Scholarship Registration
1. Complete the Ab Nicholas registration form online
2. Receive email confirmation of registration
3. Verify email address to activate account
4. Login with activated account (automatically directs to Financial Aid Worksheet)

Step 2: Financial Aid Worksheet (FAW) Request
1. Select the UW school(s) you are applying to
2. Enter your Student or Campus ID for each school
3. Submit the Financial Aid Worksheet request (grants permission to Financial Aid Office to access FAFSA)
4. Financial Aid Office completes FAW and submits directly to Ab Nicholas Scholarship Foundation on your behalf

Step 3: Complete Ab Nicholas Scholarship Application
1. Access application form using login credentials from Step 1
2. Complete application (can be done in one sitting or over multiple days)
3. Submit by April 30 deadline

Required Materials/Prerequisites:

Complete Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Submit FAFSA to UW System school(s) of choice, meeting their requirements and deadlines

Have Student or Campus ID number readily available for each eligible school

Confirm eligibility requirements are met before beginning

Verify that your school(s) are eligible for Ab Nicholas Scholarship
