NOTE: We encourage all organizations considering applying to contact our Grants Program Officer prior to submitting applications. Enriching Lives Since its inception in 1957, the Foundation has provided grants and a variety of other services to strengthen nonprofit organizations and the services they deliver. In 1988, the Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation was restructured to be a public supporting organization of the Amarillo Area Foundation. The Amarillo Area Foundation and the Don and Sybil B. Harrington Foundation award discretionary grants 3-4 times each year. The foundation will accept applications for any of the three strategic impact areas  (Each area has specific priorities for impact): Education Early Childhood LiteracyPost-Secondary Attainment HealthcareMental HealthFood InsecurityEconomic OpportunityDigital EmpowermentAccess to Quality Childcare The 4th round is tentative based on available funding.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. Applicant must hold a current tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. This includes: traditional agencies that have current 501(c)(3) status; a recognized government entity requesting funds for public charitable purposes; K-12 public schools; community colleges or universities; or churches/faith-based organizations for projects benefitting the community at large. Applicant must use grant funds within and for the benefit of the residents and communities of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle.Applicant must provide appropriate financial statements

Ineligibility

Individuals are not eligible applicants.AAF will not accept any proposals for projects that serve communities or residents located outside the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. The board also does not grant funds to the following projects: Religious activities or programs that serve specific religious groups or denominations Parochial or private schools primarily funded through student tuition Direct political lobbying or legislative activities (except if lobbying aligns with the core purpose of the foundation) Debt retirement or deficit funding Already completed projects Fundraising activities and eventsProposals will not be accepted from organizations that have not fulfilled the reporting requirements of any previous grants.
