AAAE Mentorship Program

Funder: Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE), supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

Geographic Scope: International. Program is designed to especially benefit emerging arts administrators in rural communities and locations with limited access to arts.

Focus Areas:

• Professional development and mentorship for emerging arts administration educators and practitioners
• Career support and guidance
• Networking opportunities
• Co-production of online content exploring arts at intersection of other public spheres

Program Structure:

• Emerging arts administration educators and practitioners paired with seasoned arts administration educators and/or practitioners
• Mentees receive rigorous individualized guidance from mentors
• Mentees engage in co-producing online series content
• Mentees participate in networking opportunities
• Flexible mentorship structure allows focus relevant to both mentor and mentee

Eligibility (for Mentees):

• Emerging arts administration educators and practitioners
• Must meet application requirements (see application section)
• Mentees in the inaugural cohort ranged from graduate students to early-career professionals
• International applicants welcome

About the Funding:

• FY 2023: $30,000 grant from National Endowment for the Arts
