Mission
A Little Hope, Inc. is a not-for-profit publicly supported charitable foundation, recognized by the IRS under 501(c)(3), which grants funds to organizations that provide bereavement support services and grief counseling to children, teens and young adults, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or loved one, regardless of the circumstances of the death.Geographic Scope
National foundation funding organizations across the United States. As of 2016, has funded a total of 94 organizations in 39 states.- Primary Focus: Bereavement support services and grief counseling for children, teens, and young adults
- Populations Served: Children, teens, and young adults who have experienced the death of: - Parent - Sibling - Loved one - Regardless of circumstances of death
- Program Types Supported: - Bereavement centers - School outreach programs - Camps for grieving children and teens - Specialized initiatives (e.g., suicide loss camps, camps for children with incarcerated family members, LGBTQ youth programs)
Focus Areas
- Organizations must provide bereavement support services and grief counseling to children, teens, and young adults
- Previous grantees automatically eligible for future consideration without reapplication
- Organizations serving underserved and at-risk populations encouraged to apply
