Mission

A Little Hope, Inc. is a not-for-profit publicly supported charitable foundation, recognized by the IRS under 501(c)(3), which grants funds to organizations that provide bereavement support services and grief counseling to children, teens and young adults, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or loved one, regardless of the circumstances of the death.

Geographic Scope

National foundation funding organizations across the United States. As of 2016, has funded a total of 94 organizations in 39 states.

    Focus Areas

  • Primary Focus: Bereavement support services and grief counseling for children, teens, and young adults
  • Populations Served: Children, teens, and young adults who have experienced the death of:
  • - Parent - Sibling - Loved one - Regardless of circumstances of death
  • Program Types Supported:
  • - Bereavement centers - School outreach programs - Camps for grieving children and teens - Specialized initiatives (e.g., suicide loss camps, camps for children with incarcerated family members, LGBTQ youth programs)

    Eligibility

  • Organizations must provide bereavement support services and grief counseling to children, teens, and young adults
  • Previous grantees automatically eligible for future consideration without reapplication
  • Organizations serving underserved and at-risk populations encouraged to apply

Grant applications are by invitation only. Organizations not previously funded must submit initial inquiry to be considered.

How to Apply

#### Initial Inquiry (For Non-Funded Organizations)
1. Send an email to granting@alittlehope.org containing ONLY the following information:
- Name of your program
- Your website address
- Name of your executive director
- Name of the program director
- Location of your program

2. Do not send: Letters of inquiry or any other materials unless specifically requested by A Little Hope

3. Your organization will be reviewed and placed in active files for future reference

#### Formal Grant Application

  • Grant applications are by invitation only

  • Invitations are sent to potential grant recipients during the month of October each year

  • Previous grant recipients and organizations that have already submitted inquiries do not need to reapply
  • #### Important Notes

  • No telephone calls accepted

  • Do not send multiple inquiries

  • Only authorized representatives of A Little Hope are authorized to solicit RFPs or information

  • If your organization has previously received a grant, no reapplication necessary
