Overview

The Hanger Foundation provides annual grant opportunities for nonprofit organizations in the United States. Since 2009, the Foundation has awarded over $5 million in grant funding to 214 nonprofit organizations sharing goals to empower people with physical challenges to live life as fully as possible.

Focus Areas

The Hanger Foundation supports 501(c)(3) organizations that directly and positively impact people with physical challenges in need, focused on empowering people through:

• Rehabilitation and support services for related illnesses or trauma, such as stroke, sports injuries, combat-related injuries
• Athletic programs, social activities, and events for individuals with physical challenges, with special emphasis on individuals with limb loss or limb difference and veterans

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
• Must serve people with physical challenges in need in the United States
• Must fit within the Foundation's focus areas
• Applicants must complete the Grant Application Process
• All grants are currently one-year grants only

Funding Parameters

• Operating expenses are only funded up to 15% of the total grant and only when connected with a funded project or program

• Capacity building
• Capital campaigns
