2026 Oakland County Fair Scholarship

Funder: Oakland County 4-H Fair Association

Geographic Scope: Oakland County, Michigan

Award Amount: Maximum one-time award of up to $1,000.00

Overview:
This scholarship supports youth who have been involved with the Oakland County Fair and are pursuing higher education. The money is sent directly to the winning candidate.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be or have been an exhibitor in the Oakland County Fair for at least 3 years
• If applying while in an undergraduate program or trade school, must maintain current, active involvement in the Fair (can apply up to senior year in college)
• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Must have been accepted to attend college or trade school in the fall of the award year
• This is a maximum one-time award

Required Materials

• ORIGINAL letter of recommendation from two different persons (not relatives)
• Verification of community service (may be bolded in one of the recommendation letters)
• Academic transcripts
• Completed application form
• In-person personal interview with selection committee

Selection Process

• Winning candidate(s) selected by vote of Fair Board at June meeting
• Judged on application with attachments and personal interview
• Scholarship Committee makes recommendations to Fair Board

Important Dates

• Application deadline: June 1, 2026
• Interviews: In-person at Fair Office (scheduled by phone notification)
• Winner announcement: July 10, 2026 (prior to fireworks)
