University Christian Church Legacy Foundation

The foundation’s mission is “to advance compassionate services and just systems so that marginalized children, youth & families can build stability and thrive in strengthened communities.” It identifies basic needs—including stable housing, healthy food, safety, love, and belonging—and access to just and equitable systems as ultimate social goals.

It seeks to support 501(c)(3) organizations addressing challenges faced by children, youth, and families who are most marginalized and furthest from justice. Its stated priorities also include organizations with leadership, staff, and board members who reflect the communities they serve; meaningful inclusion of community members with lived experience in planning and decision-making; and work addressing significant challenges for long-term change.

The foundation’s 2025 grants included organizations whose own missions describe work in child well-being and public policy, youth healing and systems change, support for African immigrant and refugee families, economic fairness, immigrant and refugee rights, and youth homelessness. For example, Children’s Alliance describes its mission as improving children’s well-being through positive changes in public policies, priorities, and programs. Choose 180 says it works to transform oppressive systems and support young people’s healing. NorthStar Advocates describes its work as preventing and ending youth homelessness by supporting young people, families, and communities.
