Jane Greenebaum Eskind (May 18, 1933 – August 4, 2016) was a groundbreaking political leader and activist. She was the first woman to win a statewide election in Tennessee, serving on the Tennessee Public Service Commission from 1981–1986 and later as commission chair. She was also the first woman to chair the Tennessee Democratic Party in 1994.

Richard Jerome Eskind (October 1, 1930 – November 22, 2023) was a financial sector businessman and healthcare entrepreneur. He served as vice president and resident manager of the Nashville branch of A.G. Edwards and Sons Inc. and founded three healthcare companies that went public. He was instrumental in establishing Nashville as the "Wall Street of the South" during the 1960s and 1970s.

The Eskinds were married for 62 years and had two children: Ellen and Billy.
