The foundation’s stated mission is “to enrich community life in the region by providing opportunities to help the public reach their fullest potential,” by supporting local nonprofits’ projects and special events that directly benefit people with physical, emotional, and financial needs.

Its 2024 filing describes grants to local-area 501(c)(3) charitable organizations serving adults and children with those needs. It also describes renovations to rooms in nonprofit facilities benefiting children in need. Through Holiday Share, the foundation receives family wish lists from local 501(c)(3) organizations and social service offices, then has volunteers shop for approved items. The filing says that in 2024, 95 organizations received items benefiting 5,000 individuals in the Capital Region; it also reports providing winter clothing and blankets to local 501(c)(3) organizations.

Among the 2024 grantees, City Mission of Schenectady says its ministries seek to meet the needs of people experiencing poverty. Vera House says it works to prevent, respond to, and end domestic and sexual violence and other forms of abuse. Center for Disability Services describes providing long-term health care for children and young adults. Other supported organizations include Unity House of Troy, which describes programs for people living in poverty and others with varied needs; Samaritan Center, which coordinates volunteers serving food to people in need; and Equinox, which describes providing human services in the Capital Region.
