The Broad Institute is an independent, nonprofit research organization headquartered in Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 2004 to fulfill the promise of genomic medicine, the institute is a multidisciplinary community of researchers dedicated to understanding the roots of disease and closing the gap between new biological insights and impact for patients.
