Both received undergraduate degrees from Ohio State University. Jeffrey earned an MBA from Northwestern University, and Rita received a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University. In 1983, they moved to Orlando, Florida, where Jeffrey became a developer in the resort and vacation ownership business.
The founders have been involved with numerous organizations including AdventHealth, Central Florida Foundation, Orlando Museum of Art, Roth Jewish Community Center, UCF Business School, UCF Foundation, Jewish Federation of Central Florida, Congregation Ohev Shalom, Aspen Art Museum, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, and Jazz Aspen.
