Mission: Pi Beta Phi Foundation enables the Fraternity to realize its mission and ensures the future of our sisterhood.
Vision: To be recognized as a premier organization for women by providing lifelong enrichment to members and contributing to the betterment of society.
The Foundation's primary focus is advancing literacy through its read>lead>achieve initiative. Pi Beta Phi was the first Greek lettered organization to establish its own national philanthropic project, founding the Pi Beta Phi settlement school in Appalachia (now Gatlinburg, Tennessee) in 1912.
Current literacy initiatives include:
- Champions Are Readers
- Fraternity Day of Service signature events
- Arrow in the Arctic
- Local Impact Grants to 501(c)(3) organizations with literacy programs
In fiscal year 2023-24, tens of thousands of children were assisted through Pi Phi's literacy efforts. The Foundation also supports leadership programs and educational scholarships for members.
