The first step is to send a brief letter of inquiry by U.S. Mail, describing the organization’s mission, project and intended outcomes, community served, grant period, amount requested, and use of funds. After staff review, selected applicants are invited to submit a full proposal online. The Board reviews complete proposals four times a year. The Foundation does not fund capital campaigns, construction or renovation, deficit financing or debt reduction, conferences or festivals, fundraising events or advertising, special or athletic events, individuals, lobbying, or religious organizations unless they are undertaking a significant project benefiting the entire community. New proposals are not accepted until required grant-agreement, narrative, and financial reporting terms have been met.
