TO IMPLEMENT A MODEL OF "EXCELLENCE IN EARTH SCIENCE EDUCATION". THIS MODEL IS DESIGNED TO CHALLENGE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS TO MAKE EARTH SCIENCE EDUCATION A PRIORITY AND IS DIVIDED INTO THE FOLLOWING DIRECTIVES:1) FINANCIALLY SUPPORT STUDENTS WHO ATTEND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS WITHIN OKLAHOMA AND WHO ARE ENROLLED IN AN EARTH SCIENCE CURRICULUM. 2) GRANT MONETARY SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS AND SCHOOLS IN OKLAHOMA THAT MAINTAIN A PROGRAM IN THE GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES. 3) HELP SUPPORT STUDENTS WHO ATTEND COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN OKLAHOMA AND MAJOR IN THE GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND WHO PLAN TO PURSUE A CAREER IN EARTH SCIENCES. 4) PROVIDE FUNDING FOR SCIENTIFIC ENDEAVORS THAT ARE CONDUCTED BY ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROMOTE THE GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES. 5) HONOR CERTAIN PROFESSIONALS EMPLOYED IN BUSINESSES AFFLIATED WITH THE GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND WHO HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GEOLOGICAL PROFESSION.
