Youth Grant Committee: Vigo County The Wabash Valley Community Foundation, Inc., Youth Grant Committee exists to kindle the spirit of service and philanthropic leadership among the youth of Vigo County. YGC members are Vigo County high school students interested in serving the community while improving their philanthropic and leadership skills. Youth Grant Committee members solicit and review grant applications for youth-led, youth-serving projects; visit local non profits to learn more about the philanthropic landscape of Vigo County; and participate in leadership development activities. Priorities The priorities of the Youth Grant Committee are as follows: Youth-led, youth-implemented, and youth serving projects Projects that will make a significant improvement and better respond to the changing needs in our communityProjects that seek to prevent problems, rather than ‘treat symptoms’ Programs that enhance cooperation and collaboration among institutions within our communitiesProjects with longevity

Eligibility

Ineligibility

While the Youth Grant Committee remains flexible in attempting to meet community needs, the following items generally are not funded:Funds for redistribution by the granteeReimbursement for expenses incurred before a grant has been awardedConferences, publications, films, television and radio programsTravel for groups such as bands, sports teams and classesAnnual appeals and membership contributionsHoliday Parties
