Young Professional of the Year Award

Program Overview: The WBA Young Professional of the Year Award seeks to recognize young broadcasters who have made a significant impact on their stations and communities.

Purpose: To recognize and celebrate emerging talent in Wisconsin broadcasting, encouraging innovation and community involvement among early-career professionals.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Age: Must be under 40 years old at time of nomination

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years at a radio or TV station in Wisconsin

  • Location: Must be working in Wisconsin

    • Selection Process:

  • Monthly Honorees: Selected monthly and featured in WBA's Young Professionals e-newsletter as "YP of the Month"

  • Annual Winner: Selected from the monthly "YP of the Month" honorees and awarded at the WBA Summer Conference

    • Evaluation Criteria (based on):

  • Contributions to the industry

  • Spirit of innovation

  • Community involvement

    • Geographic Scope: Wisconsin
