Local Broadcast Legends Award

Program Overview: Recognition for individuals who exemplify localism and the commitment broadcasters have made to serve their local communities. Legends are recognized for the influence and impact at their stations and in service to their community.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Influence and impact at station(s)

  • Impact on the community or communities served

    • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum of 20 years of service at one specific Wisconsin station, OR

  • Minimum of 20 years in one specific Wisconsin community or market

  • Must be a current or former broadcaster

  • Note: The WBA Hall of Fame Committee makes final determination each year on eligibility and selection

    • Geographic Scope: Wisconsin

    Who Can Nominate:

  • General public (any person can make nominations)

  • All nominations must be supported by the manager of the station or group where nominee is/was employed

    • Timeline:

  • Nomination Period Opens: November 1

  • Nomination Deadline: January 15

    - Examples of support for colleagues and station

    3. Supporting Materials (optional, 5-page limit)
    - Letters or supporting information in PDF format
    - Additional documentation to support nomination
