YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties Scholarships Grant

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties offers scholarships designed to eliminate financial barriers to access Y programs and services. These scholarships enable individuals and families to engage in transformative activities, regardless of their age, background, or income level. Funded by local donors, the scholarships typically cover up to 50% of costs, ensuring that everyone who qualifies can benefit. Applications are assessed based on gross income, household size, and specific circumstances.

Scholarships at the YMCA help remove the financial barriers to accessing Y facilities, programs, and services. The scholarship provides individuals and families the opportunity to participate in the life-changing programs and services offered by the YMCA regardless of age, background, ethnicity, ability, or income. Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of local donors and foundations. Scholarships are typically approved for one year but may be renewed.
We’ll consider your gross income, household size, and special circumstances, and then determine a scholarship amount up to 50% to align with your unique situation. Our goal is to help everyone who qualifies for scholarships.

How to Apply for a Scholarship
The fastest way to receive a scholarship determination is to bring all gross income and benefit documentation for your household to the Center nearest you.
What you'll need:Printed or Digital Gross Income and benefit documentation for everyone in the household who shares in household expenses. Please provide documentation from each of the following if you receive them:Two months of paystubsThree months of profit-loss from self-employmentCompleted and filed tax return from last yearAward letters for:SNAPTANFSSIDisabilityMilitary Retirement/DisabilityChild SupportUnemploymentIf you are unable to make it to your local YMCA Center you can fill out the following application online. Response times for online applications will vary based on the number of applications received.
