YLS Textbook Scholarship

Funder: United Way of Greater Stark County's Young Leaders Society (YLS)

Geographic Scope: Stark County, Ohio

Focus Area: Education - College textbook costs

Award Amount: $4,000 total ($1,000 per year for 4 years)

Purpose: To help ease the stress of paying for college textbooks, which are typically not covered by other scholarships.

Eligibility Requirements

• High school senior attending a Stark County school district
• First member of their family to pursue a four-year college degree
• Minimum GPA: 2.75 or better on a 4.00 scale (or equivalent demonstration of proficiency on all required state standards)

Program Background

Established in 2018 by United Way's Young Leaders Society, a group of passionate young professionals who educate, engage and inspire individuals across Greater Stark County through mentorship, fundraising and volunteerism.
