Overview

YLACES assists and rewards the implementation of inquiry-based, experiential science education where students do science and contribute to the understanding of the environment through recognition and financial reward programs.

Award Amount

Up to $1,500 for instruments and supplies to facilitate youth environmental research and data collection.

• United States (educators and organizations)
• International (educators and organizations with endorsement from the GLOBE Program in their country)

Focus Areas

Eligible Uses:
• Scientific measurement equipment for environmental data collection
• Supplies for youth environmental research projects
• Equipment for taking environmental measurements

Application Deadlines

Grant cycle dates:
• July 15th (summer cycle)
• January 15th (winter cycle)
• Applications accepted on a rolling basis at any time

Eligibility

• Educators in all states and internationally
• Organizations committed to student citizen environmental science
• Proposals must meet YLACES criteria for environmental research education
