Supporting positive opportunities for youth.

Grants are available for programs that improve the quality of life for youth in Newaygo County. Applications are evaluated by members of the Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC). The group uses the results of needs assessment surveys distributed in local schools to develop funding priorities. Organizations may apply for up to $12,500.

Funding Priorities

* H.E.L.P. (Helping Everyone Live Positively)
* Support for Newaygo County youth who face challenges with drugs, questioned sexuality, teen pregnancy, or poor home life
* Social opportunities for youth
* Building and improving recreational and educational activities for the youth of Newaygo County
* Continued educational opportunities
* Provide youth with helpful skills to aid in their success in employment and leadership in Newaygo County

* The Community Foundation places special emphasis on issues and projects that are poised to transform the quality of life for Newaygo County residents. 
* Who Can Apply
* 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations
* Units of government
* Educational institutions (preschool through college)
* Organizations that are located in Newaygo County or directly serve the people of Newaygo County.

Ineligibility

* Things Fremont Area Community Foundation typically will not fund:
* Grants to individuals, the purchase of property, sponsorships of one-time or special events, existing obligations, religious programing requiring affiliation and/or religious instruction, or projects that began prior to award notification.
