Wyeth Foundation for American Art Grant - Individual

The Wyeth Foundation for American Art Grant - Individual supports the study and appreciation of historic American art. It funds pre- and post-graduate fellowships, scholarly publications, conservation efforts, and innovative exhibitions. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $25,000 and may span two to three years. The foundation aims to enhance recognition and understanding of American art through research and educational programs, excluding applications focused solely on art from the last three decades.

The Foundation supports selected programs of scholarship, research, conservation, and exhibitions with institutions and other non-profit organizations that are consistent with this mission. The Foundation does not support grant applications exclusively focused on art of the last three decades.
In particular, the Foundation provides financial support for a number of pre- and post-graduate fellowship programs in American art, for scholarly publications (especially first time publications) in American art, for conservation of important works of American art, and for innovative exhibitions and educational programs centered on American art.
The Wyeth Foundation for American Art provides financial support to encourage the study, appreciation, and recognition of excellence in all aspects of historic American art.
A fundamental goal of the Wyeth Foundation for American Art is to fund programs and proposals that serve as catalysts to achieve greater recognition and understanding of excellence in American art. To that end, the Foundation provides ongoing, pre-doctoral grants to support programs of research and scholarship in American art at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Research & Scholars Center at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The Foundation also provides ongoing funding for the Wyeth Foundation for American Art Publication Grant program, administered by the College Art Association.
Funding
Typically, the grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 per project and may extend over two or three years.

Eligibility

Pre-doctoral grants are offered to support programs of research and scholarship in American art at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Research & Scholars Center at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Ineligibility

The Foundation does not support grant applications exclusively focused on art of the last three decades.
