Women & Giving Scholarships

Program Focus: Scholarships for non-traditional female students

Mission: Help women overcome barriers, increase opportunities, and achieve goals

Geographic Scope: Watertown area, Wisconsin

Eligibility:

  • Non-traditional female students

  • Attending Lake Area Technical College (LATC) or Mount Marty University (MMU)

  • Students who are often young mothers or women returning to school
  • Award Amount: $3,000 per scholarship

    Program History: Program began in 2004; first scholarships awarded in 2006; over 20 years of operation; $411,000+ awarded in total grants and scholarships

    Key Information:

  • Awards typically given to 5-6 recipients annually

  • Advisory Committee reviews applications in early November

  • Scholarships help reduce financial barriers for non-traditional students facing competing priorities (family, aging parents, young children, work responsibilities, rising cost of living)
